2021 – 2022 Achievements
The past 12 months have been a ground breaking year for our development as we opened up our new boxing club – BOX SMART ELITE.
In just our first 6 months of operation we had 2 Junior open class national champions, an inspiring story after they tragically lost their brother and best friend who died after drowning in July. 1 Youth National Champion, who picks up what is his Sixth National Title. 1 Senior Elite National Champion in Aaron Bowen who was
also awarded the best boxer award for a championship that has been previously won by the likes of Tyson Fury & Anthony Joshua. 1 National Finalist and 2 National
Semi Finalists shows the depth of talent within this squad in just its first 6 months of inception.
Success continued into 2022 as we continued national and international success with a further 3 national titles taking the tally to 7 which warranted an article
carried out on the club in one of the biggest boxing magazines in the world (see next page)
A star was born with Aaron Bowen being selected to represent England in the Birmingham 2022 Commonwealth Games, and the Coventry Local finished up with a well earnt Bronze Medal
Another international medal was added before the year was out with John Tom Varey who selected to represent England in the Junior European Games in Italy in October and finished up as European Silver Medalist
The success was brought in through a number of boxers of which included both male and females and went right through the age groups of schoolboy (11-13) Junior (14-15) Youth (16-18) and Senior (18+) showing not only great participation levels but also that we can provide and create an environment for these boxers to excel.

2023 Has seen the club continue the successes picked up in the previous two years.
The club has had another two national champions crowned at both junior and youth level, whilst also having an elite national senior finalist and two u21 national finalists.
Both youth and senior boxers have been selected to represent their country in Tri-Nation Championships to be boxed further on in the year whilst Youth Boxer John Tom was also selected to represent England at the Youth European Games, although this has now been pulled due to political reasons John Tom was selected
to represent England at the Boxam Tournament in Spain, and in preparation for this he was selected in a Duel Contest against Ireland (See Boxing News Write Up) where he stopped the number one at his weight from Ireland in his country!
He then went out to Spain where he beat both Puerto Rico & home nation Spain to finish top of the podium with Gold.
